The heat continues as the inland trough lingers in northern NSW. The heat should be widespread but once again a cold front should bring much cooler conditions during the evening.
Drought conditions continue in Queensland where rain is urgently required. Thunderstorms with strong winds did fire along the trough this afternoon with warnings issued. Dry thunderstorms can make things worse for bushfires due to lightning strikes and very little if any rain falling in such conditions.
