A tropical cyclone has been formally name and warned by the Bureau of Meteorology after a tropical low formed in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Tropical Cyclone Fletcher is officially Category 1 and expected to cause strong winds and very heavy rainfall.
Another tropical low is in the Coral Sea - a very active period for tropical cyclone although it is the season for such tropical cyclones to form.
