Unless tropical cyclones and associated tropical depressions drift across the country, or strong cold fronts penetrate from the south, it seems very warm to hot conditions are set to return particularly across the southern parts of the country by the end of January. After some brief and welcome rainfall yesterday, there is very little prospect of rainfall across the interior at this point with the main rainfall on the eastern coast of Queensland.
