As suggested in the warnings for the tropical cyclone Sandra, another tropical low has developed in the Gulf of Carpentaria and is expected to head into the Coral Sea and intensify. It is probably too early to tell whether it will intensify sufficiently to develop into a tropical cyclone but given the time of the year, it should be monitored carefully.
It will be interesting whether it progresses along a similar path as Tropical Cyclone Sandra.
