Might see some storms on the Mid North Coast and parts of the Northern Tablelands and Hunter this afternoon. Surface winds are focusing into some instability in that area.

Both models are consistent with something in those areas today. Strong capping may limit some of the activity.
Storms popping up in the Hunter region and Central Tablelands.
Some strong gusts in Tamworth resulted in a warning for that area. You can see the cell that caused it here

Only slightly high based – haha! No wonder there were strong winds! I saw the warnings from EWN for strong winds! The air aloft was particularly cold and was tempted to do a quick dashed chase but the moisture simily was not going get any surface activity. So I called it quits!
