Parts of  the northern Queensland coastline are destined for a relatively weak tropical cyclone named Tasha which should have winds up to about 100km/h. Tropical cyclones at this time of the year are much less common for Queensland and tend to be more common and usually far more intense between January and April. Due to a strong influence of La Nina, it is anticipated that Queensland will endure an above average number of tropical cyclones during this season.
