Lightning Hits Tree in Howes Valley

We survey a tree that was hit by lightning in storms we were chasing. It shows bark that has been splintered into several layered pieces.

Lightning hit this tree North of Putty. This is a prime example why people should not shelter under trees - ( we all do to avoid hail). However this tree splintered and a large piece was across the road. Spectacular with splintered bits on the floor around the tree and the top of the tree is ready to be taken off in the next storm hanging precariously.
