How is this for a beast of a hailstone from Tyndale, NSW. Oh and this was about an hour after the hail had melted because David C and I had followed the storm to Yamba stayed there for about 10 minutes and returned. This supercell spawned hailstones that has cracked the roof tiles! And there was relatively little in the way of wind!
The conglomerate hail with white ruler is a perfect example of hail fused together – these are often reported as giant hailstones. The individual hailstones were about say about 2 to 3cm in diameter and this is what should be reported!
