Went for a storm chase to the Blue Mountains and litereally drove to a developing supercell! After stopping near Katoomba after getting structure, I headed back north playing catchup to see what the hail size was. Some occasional large thumps on the vehicle indicated at least golf balls but as I neared Bell, the size were larger and there were hail drifts!

I spent about 30 to 40 minutes searching for scattered giant hailstones exceeding 5 cm. Very difficult but managed one at 5.5cm in diameter.
