For the record On 14 January 1939, Richmond recorded a temperature of 47.8 °C (118.0 °F), the highest in the Sydney region. From memory, this was the highest in eastern NSW anywhere east of the Great Divide and I think was comparable to Jerrys Plains. Note the similarity in weather conditions for tomorrow where maximum temperatures are anticipated.
