The Penrith region was affected by a major hailstorm. Many cars were damaged by hailstones the size of golf balls although hailstones to the size of oranges devastated the region near Warragamba and Silverdale.
It was one of the most serious hailstorms to hit western Sydney since the massive hailstorms that affected Blacktown in December 2007.
