I think the footage might have been from Matt Smith who reported hail nets to the ground - obviously the hail slides towrds the centre and the shear weight stretches it to the ground.
The hail in this storm was 'at least' 2cm most likely the main core was slightly to the east of the road. I would assume though that the largest hailstones would not have exceeded 3cm in diameter.
I have defintely more dents on the vehicle. If I have time, I will review the footage.
