Most of the violent tornadoes occur in the central plains of the United States in a region known as Tornado Alley. The early season tend to occur in the eastern portion of the region including Arkansas, Missisippi and Alabama and then followed typically later in the season in regions such as Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa and the Dakotas.
