Jimmy the dry weather has persisted with just 0.9mm of rainfall during August. The last decent rainfall was at the beginning of July which has meant two months with no rain - and the need to buy water to top up the household water tanks.

We had a few hot days after returning from the ASWA conference - the afternoon we returned was the worst with 36. Lots of records were set that day.

The following weekend 29-31 August, Alison, her mum and I drove to Newcastle for a family wedding. Strong winds got quite severe on the Saturday evening as a cold front pushed through. The next day there was a large bushfire in the Nelson Bay area - this was taken from the cliffs around Newcastle:

The past week was fairly quiet weatherwise though an isolated severe storm did develop south of Grafton on Saturday. I was able to see some of it from Ballina.
