More evidence of extreme CAPE values - this time a spot sounding exceeded 6000J/kg. It will be interesting if storms erupt and to what extent the lightning activity will be.

A problem with that profile is that the lowers are a bit too dry and uppers moist. Latest runs have more modest instability but a better moisture profile for storms/
Hi Michael, there were definitely going to be down bursts with the storms in this region. The models this morning gave downgraded significantly the outlook to a more Australian typical environment!
