I very much doubt this is this case - well there does not seem to be any evidence of a comparative increase. Take into account the number of tornadoes appearing in the media - news, Youtube, and other sources as well as images. With the massive increase in mobile phone video camera and phone technologies, the number of tornadoes has not increased anywhere near as significantly - in fact not significant at all.
